Application Process

Our application process helps us to place our Cobberdogs in loving homes where we know they will be safe and able to live a healthy, happy life.

We are only a small breeder and therefore will only have a limited number of puppies available with each litter.

Applications

We do not hold a waitlist. Due to high demand and only a small number of puppies available we have elected not to hold a waitlist. If you would like to be considered for an upcoming litter when they are available, please fill in our application questionnaire.

This is a detailed questionnaire designed to assist us in selecting families and allocating our puppies when the time comes. You will only need to fill this form out once. We collect this detailed information and hold it in a database allowing us to quickly and easily assess applicants when we are also busy with puppies.

Matching puppies to the most suitable homes is an important part of our breeding program. As a result, not everyone on our contact list will be suitable for a puppy from every litter and there will never be enough puppies available for all applicants.

We endeavour to ensure our puppies go to the right home and will use the information you provide us, to determine the suitability of the puppies we have available. We ask that you are also flexible on colour and size, as this can limit your potential for being selected for a puppy.

If you are ready to apply, fill out the application form here:

Be sure to follow our social media accounts and take a good look around our website.
We selectively breed for health and temperament and pride ourselves on the quality of our dogs and their puppies. We want you to know about us as much as we want to know about you.

Puppy Selection

Our puppy selection process is very different to that of breeders where you may be able to choose your puppy from a young age. We do not allocate puppies until they have been health checked by a veterinarian and we have conducted all relevant health testing. Once puppies have been cleared at their first vet appointment, we will make contact with suitable applicants with any puppies we feel are appropriate – usually when puppies are around the 7 week mark.

The allocation process is one that is considered and takes significant time. We are simultaneously allocating puppies to families, breeders and sometimes organisations and there are many factors we take into account during this process.  We carry out genetic testing prior to allocations whilst also observing puppies from a young age for their temperament and activity levels.

This allows us to make informed decisions on allocations and will work with you in this process to ensure your new puppy is the best fit for you and your family.

Part of the Family

Your puppy will come home at approximately 9-10 weeks of age with all veterinary records, any relevant health testing documents along with a comprehensive puppy guide.

We are able to assist with transport for puppies all over Australia.

All puppies come with a comprehensive health care schedule which has included all preventative care whilst with us including regular worming, age appropriate vaccinations, a microchip and any other relevant veterinary care required.

The Cost Of A Cobberdog

Our purchase price reflects the very high level of care provided to your puppy and exceptional pedigree and quality of our breeding dogs.

We do not cut corners and the price reflects the costs associated with registering and comprehensively health testing each puppy, the intensive and unwavering care we provide to each mother and their puppies during their first 9 weeks of life, the veterinary and preventative care afforded to each puppy, as well as the ongoing care of all of our breeding dogs from the premium diet we feed them through to the life we provide them with.

We have selected and sourced only the best breeding dogs available and thus endeavour to produce only exceptional puppies as a result. We offer a lifetime of support and will assist you should you have any questions or concerns.

Guardian Homes

Occasionally we will breed a puppy that is truly exceptional for the breed and will consider placing that puppy in a guardian home not too far from where we live. Cobberdogs love human attention and thrive on love and connection. A guardian home ensures a loving family for one of our dogs whilst still remaining as part of our breeding program for a short period of time.

If you are interested in becoming a guardian home, please select this option in our application form and we can provide you with further information.

If you're not quite ready for a puppy yet, but would like to stay up to date with future litters, sign up for our mailing list via the pop-up when navigating our website. Those on our mailing list will be notified of available puppies prior to us announcing it on social media.
