Our breeding program is built around health, temperament, and ethical responsibility – with every decision made in the best interest of the breed.
Our Philosophy
We believe that responsible breeding starts with a deep commitment to the health and wellbeing of our dogs. Every breeding decision is made with the goal of improving the health and temperament of future generations of the Australian Cobberdog.
We calculate the coefficient of inbreeding (COI) for every pairing to maintain genetic diversity and reduce the risk of heritable disease. We breed for dogs that are true to type, healthy, and temperamentally exceptional.
All of our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing before being included in our program. This includes Orivet full breed profile genetic screening, PennHIP hip scoring, and OFA elbow evaluations.
We share our health testing results openly on each dog’s profile page, because transparency is fundamental to ethical breeding.
Every Wattleview puppy is raised using the Badass Breeder (BAB) and Puppy Culture protocols. These evidence-based programmes use Early Neurological Stimulation, Early Scent Introduction, and structured socialisation to give each puppy the best possible start in life.
