Evidence-based puppy raising protocols that give every Wattleview puppy the best possible start in life.
What is Puppy Culture?
Puppy Culture is a structured programme developed by Jane Killion that uses neurological stimulation, structured socialisation, and enrichment activities during the critical development window from birth to 12 weeks. Research shows that dogs raised with these protocols are more confident, emotionally stable, and better prepared for life as a family pet or working dog.
The Badass Breeder curriculum builds on Puppy Culture with additional protocols developed specifically for breeders. The programme covers everything from whelping through to the puppy going home, with detailed guidance on nutrition, health, socialisation, and temperament assessment.
Every Wattleview puppy follows the BAB curriculum from day one.
Early Neurological Stimulation
ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) is a series of gentle exercises performed on puppies between days 3 and 16 of life. These exercises stimulate the neurological system and have been shown to improve cardiovascular performance, stronger adrenal glands, and greater resistance to disease.
Early Scent Introduction
Early Scent Introduction (ESI) exposes puppies to a variety of scents from day 3 to day 16. This early exposure enhances olfactory development and has been shown to improve scenting ability in later life – beneficial for dogs who may go on to work in therapy or service roles.
